CFB Player Updates – Week of March 22-28

In injury & other updates, QB Chandler Morris has not yet been released by Oklahoma to transfer to TCU, Indiana QB Dexter Williams tore his ACL, UTSA QB Frank Harris is ready to go this spring but teammate Lowell Narcisse is limited. Boise State QB Jack Sears is healthy, but Notre Dame QB Brendon Clark is limited this spring.

LSU RBs John Emery & Ty Davis-Price will be limited in spring, as will Maryland RB Peny Boone and WR Rakim Jarrett. Ole Miss RB Jerrion Ealy and Illinois RB Mike Epstein are out this spring, while Tulsa RB TK Wilkerson announced his career is over. SMU RB TJ McDaniel & WR Reggie Roberson are both progressing well from injuries but will not participate in spring practice.

Texas WR Jake Smith may have broken a foot in spring practice, while teammate WR Troy Omeire has returned but will be limited, WR George Pickens (Georgia) will need surgery after an ACL injury in spring practice, WR Emoryie Edwards (Fresno State) is back with the team after missing last season, TE Jalen Wydermyer (Texas A&M) is out for the spring after finger surgery while teammate WR Demond Demas is suspended, Notre Dame WR Kevin Austin is expected to miss the spring and Virginia Tech WR Jaden Payoute will miss the rest of spring but should be ready for fall.

Not on spring rosters were Arizona RB Nathan Tilford, and Michigan State WR Laress Nelson & TE Matt Dotson.

CBB Injuries & Updates from Sun. March 28

On Sunday returning to action was Alex Lomax (Memphis), albeit in a last minute of the game more ceremonial type showing.

Suffering in-game injuries (all were able to return) were David Roddy (Colorado State) who took an elbow to the head near the end of the second half which drew blood, went to the tunnel to the locker room to receive treatment, he was able to return. MJ Walker (Florida State) went down with an ankle injury in the second half, he was able to return. Alex Reese (Alabama) was said/shown by the broadcast to be dealing with an apparent leg injury that he had a heating pad on in the second half, he did return. John Petty (Alabama) got his right hand bandaged in the second half and returned to action. Jules Bernard (UCLA) appeared banged up but played through it.

Notables remaining out included Isaiah Livers (Michigan) and Tolu Smith (Miss State).

In injury updates, Isaiah Livers (Michigan) was reported by the broadcast to be out the rest of the season, but when asked about it in postgame Juwan Howard would not confirm instead using the phrase out indefinitely which he has used in the past.

Declaring for the NBA Draft were Keyshawn Bryant (South Carolina), Taz Sherman (West Virginia), and Colin Castleton (Florida).

Some of those announcing transfer destinations were Greg Parham (VMI to South Alabama), Gerald Liddell (Texas to Alabama St), Antonio Rizzuto (Albany to Towson), Trevin Wade (Wichita State to Eastern Kentucky), & Sloan Seymour (George Washington to New Hampshire).
