CBB Injuries & Updates from Fri. March 5

On Friday returning to action included Bones Hyland & Vince Williams (VCU), and Josh Anderson & Luke Frampton (Western Kentucky).

Suffering in-game injuries were Chad Baker (Duquesne) who suffered an apparent leg injury in the first half, returned to the game, but then did not play in the second half, Rodney Chatman, (Dayton) fell awkwardly in the second half with an apparent lower body injury, went to the locker room and did not return to the game, and Vince Williams (VCU) did not return to the game after suffering back spasms in the second half.

Notables remaining out included Steffon Mitchell (Boston College), Zane Meeks (Nevada), and KeShawn Curry (VCU).

In injury updates, Ayo Dosunmu (Illinois) is day to day in concussion protocol, Cade Cunningham (Oklahoma State) is reportedly questionable for Saturday, Sharife Cooper (Auburn) sounds questionable/doubtful for Saturday, for Minnesota Liam Robbins, Brandon Johnson & Both Gach are GTDs on Saturday, Alex Lomax (Memphis) is questionable for Sunday, and Allen Betrand (Rhode Island) reports that he tore his ACL, PCL & LCL in Thursday’s game.

On Wednesday newly sitting out were Posh Alexander (St John’s) with a thumb injury last game, Rylan Jones (Utah) after aggravating his shoulder injury, Bayron Matos, Rod Brown, Valdir Manuel & Kurt Wegscheider (New Mexico) did not travel for undisclosed reasons, Steffon Mitchell (Boston College) with a hamstring injury, Aguek Arop (San Diego State) due to vertigo again, Malik Osborne (Florida State) with the ankle injury again, Daejon Davis & Bryce Wills (Stanford) were reportedly available but did not play, possibly a coach’s decision.

Returning to action included Jack Clark & Clifton Moore (La Salle), PJ Hall (Clemson), Bryce Aiken (Seton Hall), Craig Porter (Wichita State), CJ Felder & Justin Vander Baan (Boston College)

Chuba Ohams (Fordham) made his season debut off the bench in the A-10 Tournament after a knee injury.

Playing through injuries were Quincy Guerrier, Kadary Richmond & Marek Dolezaj (Syracuse), Javon Pickett (Missouri), Jordan Schakel (San Diego State) and Brandon Johnson (Minnesota).

Suffering in-game injuries were Collin Gillespie (Villanova) who left in the first half with a knee injury and the team announced would not return at halftime, in postgame was described as “serious”, Isaiah Poor Bear-Chandler (Wichita State) who suffered a sprained ankle in the first half and did not return,

On Tuesday newly sitting out were Rasir Bolton (Iowa State) after an ankle injury last game, Jaylin Williams (Arkansas) did not travel, likely covid-related, CJ Walker (UCF) was in a walking boot, and Nick Ongenda (DePaul) with an ankle injury.

Returning to action included Jahvon Blair (Georgetown), Seventh Woods (South Carolina), Rashun Williams (South Florida) and Christian Gray (Fresno State).

Abayomi Iyiola (Arkansas) made his season debut after recovering from a torn ACL.

Suffering in-game injuries were Abu Kigab (Boise State) who left the game in the second half and was seen on the bench with his right arm/shoulder in a sling. Race Thompson (Indiana), Isaiah Livers (Michigan) and Paul Scruggs (Xavier) all left the game with possible injuries but returned to action.

Suffering in-game injuries were Blake Francis (Richmond) who took a hard fall in the first half, was seen riding a bike on the sideline, but the team announced at halftime that he would not return due to a back injury, and Kadary Richmond (Syracuse) came into the game with an undisclosed lower body injury and left limping late in the second half and was seen icing his knee on the sideline.

Notables remaining out included Isaac Likekele (Oklahoma State), and Josh Anderson & Luke Frampton (Western Kentucky).

Returning to action included Bo Hodges (Butler), Kyle Young (Ohio State) and Rollie Worster (Utah State).

Playing through injuries were Darryl Morsell (Maryland) after aggravating his shoulder last game, and Connor McCaffery (Iowa) after an ankle injury last game.
